1.Application
1. DW17 series universal circuit breaker (Abbr circuit breaker) feature in compact conformation and size, light weight, featured series, good components interchangeability, perfect protection system, high technical economy standard, convenient maintenance and usage. The technical performance of circuit breaker conforms to IEC947-2 and GB14048.2-94.standards. The circuit breaker is applicable to rated working voltage and current with 380V, 660V, 50HZ,which is mainly used for power distribution and infrequent changing over; and protection for the overload, under voltage and short circuit of circuit and electric equipment, also with the protection of classified choice. It can actuate the motor directly and protect the motor, generator and rectifier from the damage of overload, short circuit and under voltage, etc.
2.The typic connection types of circuit breaker.( refer to diagram 1)
3. The classification and specification of circuit breaker (refer to table 1) NOTE: 1,Overload long-time delay release with fastener W1 or with fastener and signal W2, short circuit instantaneous release with fastener W3 or with fastener and signal W4; W1,W2,W3,W4 is just used for frame level 1,2 and 3. and short circuit release is used for all series. If need, it can be indicated when ordering.
•Electric operation is enclosed maintenance operation manual; drawout type circuit breaker is enclosed the operation manual of position alteration and the expansion guidways of maintenance. The customer can order according to his need.
•Blocking solenoid is mainly used for the protection of circuit breaker of motor.
2.Normal working condition:
2.1 Ambient air temperature
2.1.1 The highest ambient air temperature is less than +40 oC
2.1.2 Ambient air temperature is less than +35 oC with 24h average value.
2.1.3 The lower value of ambient air temperature is not less than -5oC .
2.2 Altitude of installating site not exceeding 2000 meters above sea level.
2.3 Atmospheric condition:
Relative humidity not higher than 50% at ambient temperature of +40 oC .Higher relative humidity permissive at lower temperature; Max relative humidity of monthly average 90% in the wettest month, temperature of monthly temperature +25oC allowing for condensed dew produced due to temperature fluctuations.
2.4 Pollution classification: Pollution classification three
2.5 Installation condition: The breaker should be completely installed or separately installed indoors with inclination with vertical plane not greater than 5 degree.

4.2 The capacity of opening and closing:
According to the standard of IEC947-2 and P-2: Co3minCo3minCO, when the power supply is upper incoming line or lower incoming line and short-time delay protection for short circuit(the delay time = 300ms), the guideline of the capacity of opening and closing is the same. Table 3 is shown for the specific guideline.(see Table 11 for arcing-over distance)

NOTE:
1.When the delay time for short circuit is over 300ms, the data of breaking capacity is due to negotiation.
2. The rated breaking capacity of DW17-2505 can be up to 70kA, and rated making capacity can be up to 154kA.
3.Circuit breaker manually operated is not applied in the circuit with predicted peak value 10kA

4.4.1 The voltage range of shunt trip is rated as 70%~110% of rated working voltage.
4.4.2 When the power supply voltage of under voltage trip is rated as 85%-110% of rated working voltage, the circuit breaker will be closed; when it's rated as 35% of rated working voltage, the circuit breaker will be opened. The reset time of time delay under voltage trip is less than 2/3 time delay, and when the voltage is back to 90% of rated value, the circuit breaker will reset. The delay time is 1.5 ± 0.5s.
4.4.3 The voltage of blocking solenoid, electromagnet operation structure and energy-releasing device is rated as 85%~110% of rated working voltage.
Note: When the coil of shunt trip is operated, and it should connect in series with the normal open contact of the auxiliary switch of circuit breaker.
The operating current of the electromotor is 220V, 380V.
